Walgreens Taking Another Look at Tobacco

This is not the first time Walgreens has re-evaluated its stance on tobacco products. Previously, it’s pulled back on the amount of tobacco products it carries in its store. This began with the company ending the sales of e-cigarettes and also when it raised the minimum age to purchase tobacco products to 21 back in 2019 following accusations from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration that Walgreens was selling tobacco products to minors [read more here].

Eliminating tobacco products from its stores is also a reaction to other drugstores. In 2014, CVS Health stopped selling cigarettes and other tobacco products after stating that these products did not align with the company’s focus on health [read more here].
