2. Show and Tell: Sharing is caring, as they say. If you’re hosting a virtual event for customers and want to share an image with them or a presentation–perhaps you want to show them your company’s tobacco field or factory–then rather than just tell your audience about it, share the image with them! In a Zoom meeting with other participants, click the “Share Screen” icon on the toolbar located at the bottom of the meeting screen. You can either share your entire desktop or just one of the windows you have open. You can easily stop the sharing function by clicking the “Stop Share” button.
3. Virtual Face Lift: If you’re worried about not looking your best for the camera, Zoom has a feature that you may not know about that could help. Check out Zoom’s “Touch Up My Appearance” feature, which serves as a built-in filter that will smooth over your appearance and can help make you look refreshed and ready for an audience. To turn on this feature, click the “up” arrow next to “Start Video.” Click “Video Settings” under “My Video” and click the “Touch Up My Appearance” box.
4. Create New Content: In today’s digital age, content is king, and every interview, virtual herf, seminar or digital event you create could have extended life and engagement if you repurpose your Zoom session–and if you are sure to record it. Both free and paid Zoom subscribers are able to record Zoom meetings directly to their computers via Zoom’s desktop app but you have to enable these recordings. Go to Settings > Recording and enable this function. The next time you want to save that Zoom event or meeting, all you’ll have to do is click the “Record” button at the bottom of the toolbar.
5. Go Big: Zoom is great for small teams but in the age of COVID-19, you need to think big and go big. You may be avoiding paying for Zoom but the upgrade is worth it, especially if you want to pivot and create a large-scale virtual event. With the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, travel and events–from trade shows to localized consumer events–will likely be on hold for the foreseeable future. Get a leg up on your competition by hosting your own virtual event, with the help of Zoom. Zoom’s paid accounts offer two key functions worth the upgrade price–first, you’ll be able to host a group meeting longer than the basic tier’s 40 minute timeframe. The professional account will enable you to host more than 100 people and if you have 1,000 eager customers, go big and upgrade to the Enterprise Plus level which will give you 1,000 participants.
