According to The Guardian’s report, KBP has studying different uses of the tobacco plant for a while, including plant-based vaccines. BAT’s director of scientific research, Dr. David O’Reilly, he believes the company has made a significant breakthrough with its tobacco plant technology platform, giving it hope that its research could lead to a vaccine for the coronavirus.
