Jim Colucci, the president and CEO of Sindicato Cigars, has been named the new chief operating officer (COO) and President of Gurkha Cigars. Colucci will now oversee Gurkha’s day-to-day operations while Gurkha will in return represent Sindicato Cigars.
Colucci has over 40 years of experience in the tobacco industry. He has been president and CEO of Sindicato Cigars for over 6 years. Before that, Colucci was the executive vice president of marketing and sales for Altadis USA’s premium cigars for over 35 years. This new position came about when he was discussing the possibility of Gurkha Cigars assuming the national sales team for Sindicato. These talks progressed and evolved over time, leading to the offer Colucci received to join Gurkha, which would allow its owner Kaizad Hansotia to spend more time on his other business ventures.
“I look forward to working with the Gurkha team and evolving what is already a great cigar company. I will remain as president and CEO of Sindicato, which will continue to be a stand alone company, shipping and invoicing its products to all customers,” commented Colucci.
