Gurkha Cigars has announced it has hired a new director of marketing–Shanda Lee. Lee is known by many in the industry as the former vice president of marketing at J.C Newman Cigar Company. At J.C. Newman, Lee was an officer and part of the product development team, responsible for developing the company’s marketing strategy. She created brands and programs that helped J.C. Newman experience double-digit sales growth over the past 10 years. Lee succeeds Eddy Guerra, who departed the company earlier in the year.
Lee will be responsible for the marketing and brand management of Gurkha Cigars and will be planning, direct supervising and coordinating all the advertising, public relations, social media and marketing campaigns for the company and its various cigar lines.
