Royal Agio Cigars has announced the upcoming release of the Balmoral Añejo XO Oscuro Lancero FT Edición Limitada, a limited production lancero vitola that follows the previous release of the original Balmoral Añejo XO Lancero FT Edición Limitada. Only 2,650 boxes of this cigar have been produced globally, 500 of which will be made available for the U.S. market.
The Balmoral Añejo XO Oscuro Lancero FT Edición Limitada is a more fuller-bodied blend than the original Balmoral Añejo XO Lancero Flag Tail (FT) Edición Limitada released. Balmoral retails will be given priority for this special, limited production release, with shipments expected to begin in October 2019. Balmoral Añejo XO Oscuro Lancero FT Edición Limitada features a sun-grown, stalk-cut Mexican San Andrés wrapper, a Dominican Olor binder and Nicaraguan, Dominican and exclusive Brazilian Mata Norte fillers. The cigar is said to have complex notes of dark chocolate, espresso and black pepper that finishes with a smooth, underlying natural sweetness. Balmoral Añejo XO Oscuro Lancero FT Edición Limitada will be presented in a 7 x 40 Lancero vitola with an MSRP of $12.95 per cigar. Like the rest of the Balmoral Añejo XO portfolio, this limited production cigar is handcrafted at Royal Agio’s factory in San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic.
“This is a special release for Balmoral that will also certainly excite the senses, and I am personally very excited to share it with cigar lovers everywhere. While the introduction of the Añejo XO Oscuro blend was itself a noteworthy discovery, the length and ring gauge of the lancero brings with it an intensification that is closer to the core of this exceptional blend,” commented Boris Wintermans, 4th generation CEO for Royal Agio Cigars.
