Casa Miranda’s Sequel
Miami Cigar’s “Casa Miranda Chapter 2” will debut at the IPCPR show in Las Vegas,
Nevada. While the original cigar was made in Miami at the famed El Titan de Bronze,
Chapter 2 will be made at My Father Cigars S.A in Esteli, Nicaragua. “Just like any
great novel, our story continues to gain momentum with the release of Chapter 2 at
this year’s IPCPR [show],” says Jason Wood, VP of Miami Cigar & Company. “I look
forward to our consumers’ feedback on this medium-bodied beauty.”
The tobacco used for this new chapter is a dark Nicaraguan Corojo wrapper with
filler from Brazil, Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. It is available in the follow-
ing sizes: Robusto (4.5”x50) $6.35 MSRP; Corona Gorda (6”x46) $7.00 MSRP; Toro
(5.5”x54) $7.60 MSRP; and Gran Toro (6”x60) $8.00 MSRP.

Best in Blending
Fourth-generation cigar and tobacco producer
Toraño Family Cigar Company has introduced its
second Vault premium cigar. The new handmade
Blend D-042 joins last year’s IPCPR premiere of
Vault Blend A-008. This latest “Blend from the
Vault” combines select Central American tobaccos,
but with an unusual addition. “My father and I dis-
covered a rare Pennsylvania leaf while on a 1998
tobacco trip,” explains President Charlie Toraño.
“Extensive experimentation revealed it to be an ex-
cellent enhancement to thefiller tobaccos inBlendD-042,whichwe recorded in theblendbook
in 2004.” [Editor’s note: In 1982, the Torano family started a blend book that meticulously docu-
ments the company’s creation and refinement of all their blends.] “The Pennsylvania tobacco’s
flavor perfectly balanced the Nicaraguan filler combination,” adds Toraño. “The original blend
had a Sumatra Ecuadorianwrapper that was a popular choice at the time andwidely available.
Inmaking some small adjustments to the original blend, we added aHabanoEcuadorianwrap-
per and the result was impressive. Blend D-042 is a powerful smoke, but with long and linger-
ing sweet spice notes, it is very rounded and flavorful. It’s a fitting addition to our Vault line,
complementing our runaway top-seller and widely distributed Vault Blend A-008.”
Vault Blend D-042 is available in three parejo shapes: a BFC (6”x60), Robusto (5”x52) and
Toro (6”x50) ... plus a Torpedo ( 6-1/8”x52).
Toraño describes the company’s blend book, which is stored in a bank deposit box, as “our
past, present and future in the world of exceptional premiumcigars. “Not all our blend recipes
are worthy to take to market, but they are still considered special to us and irreplaceable,” he
explains. “In the case of the D-042 blend, the recipe lay dormant since 2004 until now, before
coming to life with the addition of the Habano wrapper from Ecuador which was not readily
available back then.”
Vault D-042 ($7.20 to $8.50 MSRP) is presented in cedar-lined boxes of 20 cigars, with the
exception of the BFC6”x60, which comes in boxes of 18. TheVault boxes aremade to look like
the safe-deposit boxwhere theToranoblendbook is stored. ThenewVault’sdistinctivemetallic
red and gold bands are accompanied by a “Blend D-042” in the footer band to set it apart from
the original Vault blend A-008. Toraño Family Cigar Company, 800-7-Cigars,
