Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG) will soon have a new chairman. In a recent press release, the company announced that Henrik Brandt will succeed Nigel Northridge as STG’s new chairman.
Northridge joined STG’s Board of Directors in 2016 and has served as its chairman since 2017. He recently informed the Board of Directors that he would be retiring this year and did not plan on seeking re-election at the company’s annual general meeting on March 31, 2022. It is at this meeting where the Board of Directors will elect Henrik Brandt as its new chairman. Brandt joined the board back in 2017 and served as its vice chairman.
“It has always been my desire to retire in my mid 60’s, in order to spend more time with my wife and grandchildren,” Northridge revealed in a statement. “I have been honored to chair the Board of Directors of Scandinavian Tobacco Group for the past 5 years, and I have throughout enjoyed the cooperation with the Board of Directors and the strong leadership of the company. I am confident that Scandinavian Tobacco Group is well-positioned for continued growth and development. I wish my successor, my colleagues on the Board of Directors, the Management and all employees of the Company the very best for the future.”
