According to reports from Filter and Vaping360, the Center for Tobacco Products (CTP) will name Michele Mital as its acting director when Mitch Zeller retires this month. Currently, Mital serves as the deputing director of the CTP. A formal announcement of Mital’s new but temporary position has yet to be made by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Mital has worked within the FDA since 1996 and held various positions within the agency, including the Office of Legislation. When the CTP was formed in 2009, Mital began working within it and was named its deputy director in 2018.
