New this year is a release from the Zino Platinum brand, the Zino Platinum Z-Crown. Packaged in coffin humidors, the Zino Platinum Z-Crown feature filler tobaccos aged for eight years and that sat for an additional four years after they were rolled. This will be available in two blends: one will have a Semilla 702 wrapper, Ecuadorian Sumatra binder, and will have filler from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua; the second will have a Dominican Semilla 253 wrapper, Ecuadorian Connecticut binder, and filler from Dominican Republic.

Camacho BXP at IPCPR 2017

Camacho Cigars was given a great deal of real estate in the booth, showcasing the new Camacho Nicaraguan Barrel Aged. In looking at the Camacho section, you suddenly realized the many releases from this one brand that have come out in the past year. There was Camacho BXP, Liberty 2017, and last year’s big push, the Powerband.

What may be surprising to some, the busiest area of the booth were those with accessory products. S.T. Dupont had a big presence in the left corner of the booth with its CEO, Alain Crevet constantly on his feet showing off the lighters, pens, smoking kits and luxury humidors the company had to offer. Davidoff itself also went heavy on the branded accessories, from their leather cigar cases, soft humidors and Winston Churchill accessory line. This trend–branded accessories–was something Davidoff and other companies seem to be focusing on as cigar and tobacco products are now harder to bring to market.
