Miami Cigar celebrates Nestor Miranda’s 70th birthday with a car-shaped keepsake box.
For Nestor Miranda’s 70th birthday—
which falls on Valentine’s Day—Miami
Cigar will have a commemorative
cigar packaged in a keepsake box that
resembles a car Nestor has always
admired. The body of the car will lift off
the frame to reveal three rows of four
“Nestor Miranda 70th LE” cigars in the
chassis of the classic automobile. Only
1,000 individually numbered boxes
will be made, with 700 being released
initially. The remaining 300 will remain
in the humidor at Miami Cigar &
Company to be released at a later date.
The “Nestor Miranda 70th LE” will
be released as a lancero cigar from
the two factories that Nestor has had
a tremendous relationship with over
the years. The boxes of 12 cigars will
feature six from the My Father Factory
in Nicaragua and six from La Aurora in
the Dominican Republic.
The cigars from Esteli will feature a
dark Habana wrapper over Nicaraguan
fillers while its counterpart from
Santiago will feature a Mexican San
Andreas. Both cigars are medium to
full and showcase the best from both
regions.
“We wanted to do something special
for Nestor and create a keepsake at the
same time,” explains Jason Wood, vice
president of Miami Cigar & Company.
“Nestor has always strived for the best,
and we believe this cigar is up to the
challenge.”
The “Nestor Miranda 70th LE” will
make its debut over the course of
two days at a series of events in New
Mexico at Monte’s of Albuquerque on
February 9 and 10, 2013. The national
release of the cigar will be on his
birthday, February 14, and will retail for
$14 a stick before local taxes.
Alchem Expands Production
Capacity of Liquid Nicotine for E-Cigs
Alchem International’s pharmaceutical-grade nicotine production
facility has been inspected and approved by the FDA.
Alchem International has inaugurated
its expanded Ballabgarh, India facility
dedicated exclusively to the production
of pharmaceutical-grade plant extracts,
including its new liquid nicotine USP/EP
production line specifically developed to
meet electronic cigarette requirements.
“Expansion of our facility was
necessary to answer the growing
demand from e-liquid manufacturers,”
explains Laurent Leduc, chief operating
officer of Alchem USA. “Alchem’s
facilities are incorporated with a state-of-
the-art laboratory that is able to test USP
and EP monographs to ensure the purity
of our products, quantify the level of
impurities, and support our customers’
quality control requirements.”
Alchem’s nicotine is virtually
clear and colorless, a result of its
exceptional purity. Colored nicotine
contains oxidized impurities, which
not only impact the flavor, but also
the effectiveness of the nicotine.
“Our liquid nicotine is produced in a
pharmaceutical-grade, FDA-inspected
facility,” Leduc continues. “The
nicotine is extracted from tobacco
leaves, giving it a preferred flavor and
complete supply chain integration. It
is also packaged in special containers
to extend its shelf life and to avoid
oxidation.”
Alchem, which is India’s largest
herbal extracts manufacturer and
supplier of pharmaceutical, nutraceutical
and cosmeceutical actives, applies
a pharmaceutical approach to every
ingredient it produces, providing optimum
quality and value to its customers.
Approved by the U.S. Food and Drug
Administration, the company has three
facilities that comply with international
GMP standards. Formore information visit
