Demystifying Mistic
E-cigarette maker Ballantyne Brands recently introduced its newest
blend of Mistic electronic cigarette refill cartridges at the 2013 National
Association of Convenience Stores’ Show in Atlanta, Georgia. Available
in 1.8 percent nicotine by volume, the American blend and Cool Ice blend
refill cartridges broaden the company’s line of traditional tobacco and
menthol taste profiles.
“Mistic is committed to providing our customers with exceptional taste,
quality and value,” says John Wiesehan Jr., Mistic’s CEO, who notes that
Mistic sells exclusively at brick-and-mortar stores and produces the e-
liquid for its blends in an FDA food-grade facility here in the U.S. “We are
100 percent focused on retailers versus the Internet.”
American and Cool Ice bear a suggested retail price of $14.99 per
five-pack of cartridge refills. The new blends come on the heels of the
company’s debut of the Mistic Black disposable soft-tip e-cigarette. “We
introduced a $1.99 disposable product to let consumers try our flavor
without having to invest in a kit,” explains Wiesehan, “but our real [focus]
