Optimum Freshness
Optimo Cigarillos are now easier to
remove from the pouch thanks to
engineers at Swisher International who
have completely redesigned the cigar
pouch with a side-open pouch design.
Simply use the easy-tear notch to open
the foil package length-wise rather
than across the top or bottom. The
new foil pouch also locks in freshness,
and has a reseal feature that lets you
keep your second cigar just as fresh
as the first. Optimo Peach, Sweet and
Black are available in the new packages
nationwide.

Arango Cigar Co. has announced its
new “Clasico” series of premium cigars,
made by General Cigar Company. The
four shapes, shared by both brands, are
patterned after the top-selling General
Cigar brands Macanudo and Punch.
The two Clasico lines are proprietary and
distributedonlybyArangoCigarCo.
BoththeMacanudoandPunchClasicos
have the same wrappers and similar
blends as the acclaimed lines offered by
General Cigar. The Clasico frontmarks
pay tribute to the Chicago area. The mild-
to-medium-bodied Macanudo Clasicos
are the 5.5x40 Mag(nificent) Mile ($6.40
MSRP), 5.5x50 Windy City ($6.60), 6x54
Bucktown ($7.50) and 6x58 Gold Coast
($8.50). The dimensions of the medium-
bodied Punch Clasico cigars vary slightly,
and their MSRPs are $2.60, $5.50, $5.60
and$6.20.
The Dominican-made Macanudo
Clasico’s Connecticut Shade wrapper
and the Honduran-made Punch Clasico’s
Ecuadorian wrapper offer a smoke best
described as “smooth,” according to
Michael Gold, Arango’s president. “Both
Clasico lines,” Gold emphasizes, “are
limited to brick-and-mortar tobacconists,
and are not available to Internet or mail-
order retailers. We are presenting the
cigars in 15-count boxes, another novel
andprice-friendly featureof the line.”
