oming on the heels of the
FDA’s long-awaited announce-
ment regarding regulating elec-
tronic cigarettes, cigars and pipe tobacco,
the inaugural Vapor World Expo could
not have taken place at a better time.
More than 600 representatives from
vapor companies and retail shops turned
out to attend the show’s educational
seminars and browse the displays on the
trade show floor.
“After attending and speaking at this
show, we are even more excited about the
vast potential of the e-vapor category,”
Wells Fargo’s Bonnie Herzog wrote
in a post-show report. “We believe the
potential of vapors/tanks/mods (VTMs)
is undeniable given the superior product
performance and fierce customer
commitment to the category.”
Many attendees echoed Herzog’s
sentiments, feeling buoyed about the
category’s potential despite questions
and concerns related to the prospect of
FDA regulation. “Our sales of electronic
products have already had triple-digit
growth during 2014—and we have a
long way to go,” said one retailer. “While
we’re concerned that regulation will
change the game significantly, that will
