On Saturday June 2, 2012, Rouseco,
Inc. sponsored the Early Out fishing
team and their mercury-powered, 34-
foot Fountain Powerboat for Military
Appreciation Day (MAD), which was
held on the waterfront in Morehead
City, North Carolina. This was the
seventh consecutive year for the event,
which has hosted more than 5,000
troops and their family members for
a day of fishing, boat rides, activities
and great food, all free and provided by
members of the local community who
worked to make the event a success.
“Military Appreciation Day has one
simple goal and that is to say ‘Thank
you!’ to anyone who serves or has served
in our military,”says JeffMartin, general
manager of Rouseco, who explains that
the event is put on by a dedicated group
of volunteers who do everything from
preparing food and helping serve it, to
finding willing participants to donate
their time and boats to carry service
members out fishing.
The 2012 MAD weekend began
with 200 volunteers gathering for a
pre-event meeting. Held at Morehead
City’s Jaycee Park the evening before
event day, the gathering enabled
