ith so much surrounding
the stogie scene lately, both
socially and legislatively,
it ’s no wonder the International
Premium Cigar and Pipe Retailers
(IPCPR) trade show has planned
such a well-rounded focus on cigars.
The show, which will be held
in Orlando, Florida (August 2-6),
offers a fun and informative lineup of
educational seminars including:
• Cigar Politics 101—The IPCPR
& Cigar Rights of America (CRA)
join forces to bring show-goers up-
to-date on how to protect themselves
and their cigar business in this ever-
changing political tobacco climate.
• U.S. Tobacco Tax & Trade
Bureau (TTB) Audit Discussion—
Inaccuracies in monthly reports and
what may go wrong in payments
and collections of federal excise
taxes leading to audits is a worry
for cigar importers, warehousemen,
distributors and retailers. All too
often, cigar importers are focused
only on TTB and forget about normal
regulatory import requirements of
U.S. Customs and Border Protection
(CPB) that results in seizures
and penalties, according to Peter
Quinter, a chair of the Customs &
