Rogue One: The FDA Story

    While the Trump administration has worked to deregulate other industries, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s push to regulate premium cigars moves forward.


    The FDA has ignored the Trump administration’s call to remove unnecessary regulations that impede business and economic growth, but recent attention from the SBA and Congress has many cautiously hopeful that the FDA’s indiscriminate approach to premium cigar regulation may be corrected.

    The premium cigar industry has an extensive footprint in key presidential states like Pennsylvania and Florida, and there is a neighborhood tobacconist in virtually every congressional district. As America kicks off the next election cycle, advocacy outreach by manufacturers and retailers is essential in order to highlight how a rollback of these regulations would support local jobs, support business growth and even increase tax revenue.
