Where you stay in Vegas can easily make or break your trip. This year, TPE’s host hotel matches the vibrant and hip spirit of the TPE show itself. The official TPE host hotel is the SLS Las Vegas (2535 S. Las Vegas Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89109 | slslasvegas.com). The SLS Las Vegas is a sleek, stylish and seductive hotel located off the Strip and just minutes away from the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Built on the site of the former Sahara Hotel and Casino, the SLS Las Vegas opened in August 2014 after undergoing a $415 million renovation. This hotel features more than 1,300 guest rooms that are each unique and contemporary in design. This is not your typical Vegas hotel—it is a fun, upbeat, new-Vegas accommodation with a variety of food, drink and entertainment options.
Room-wise, there are two options within the hotel for TPE attendees. The World Tower’s rooms feature plush bedding, roomy seating areas and a work desk, perfect for those attendees who need to mix a bit of work into their TPE trip. The Story Tower has a more industrial design, embracing a more boutique-like décor that’s energetic and fun.
If you get back late from the show floor one day or just need a late-night snack, there’s no need to go far, as the SLS Las Vegas is home to many different dining options. If you’re a foodie and you feel experimental, you’ll want to make a reservation at Bazaar Meat by José Andrés. Bazaar Meat is not for vegetarians! Caviar, oysters, wild boar sausage and pork-skin chicharrón are just a small sampling of what you’ll find on the huge menu at Bazaar Meat. If pub food is more your thing, head over to Umami Burger, Beer Garden & Sports Book. With an extensive craft beer menu, creative takes on burgers and an outdoor sitting area, Umami is the perfect venue for those seeking a spot that’s more casual and laid-back. There are several other dining establishments within the hotel that offer different food options, including The Perq for coffee and baked goods, 800 Degrees Neapolitan Pizzeria, the Mediterranean-inspired Cleo, and made-to-order Chinese cuisines at Northside Cafe & Chinese Kitchen.
For drinks, head over to the Monkey Bar, located near the lobby. Open until midnight from Monday through Thursday and until 2 a.m. the rest of the week, here you can enjoy handcrafted cocktails, wine and beer, as well as live entertainment on the weekends. If you’re looking for a more typical Vegas experience, head out to the casino floor and a pull up a seat at the Center Bar. Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, Center Bar is a great place to people-watch and take in the busy Vegas atmosphere over signature cocktails and drink specials.
