Part of the changes the PCA is introducing is an expanded board, going from a total of 15 to 19 total members. The new board will consist of 14 retail members and 5 associate members, with one associate member serving on the executive committee as a special liaison. The goal of the re-structured board is to create better opportunities for business-to-business interfacing with more impactful networking, high-quality educational resources, and a more comprehensive advocacy strategy that will help the association better defend and protect retailers across the country.
Joining the newly restructured board is Mike Conder of Crowned Heads, who will serve as the executive committee liaison; Christian Eiroa of C.L.E. and Alan Rubin, founder of Alec Bradley. Each of these new members’ terms will last through July 2024. The remaining two open seats will be filled through an open elections process that the PCA began last year. These terms will last for three years, ending in July 2025. Two additional associate board seats will be filled through an open board election process that began last year. The nomination period will open March 1. During this period, retailer members and associates will be able to submit their nominations to the nominating committee for consideration. The final ballot will be announced in April and elections will take place May 1-31. Only current PCA retail members will be able to vote.
A Facebook and YouTube Live event will be held on Jan. 13, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. eastern time to cover these changes. In addition, the PCA will hold a members-only Zoom Town Hall to answer member questions and provide any further details that members may need. Details for this members-only Town Hall will be emailed to current PCA members.
