Described as J.C. Newman’s underthe-radar cigar by Drew Newman, El Baton is a full-bodied cigar wrapped in an Ecuadorian wrapper and rolled with a blend of rich, Nicaraguan tobacco. It will come packaged in 25-count boxes and available in four different sizes: Belicoso (5 x 56), Toro (6 x 60), Double Torpedo (6 1/4 x 56) and Robusto (5 x 54). The suggested retail price per cigar ranges from $7.70 to $8.70. K by Karen Berger 25th Anniversary by A.J. Fernandez In celebration of the 25 years Karen and Kiki Berger have been working together in the cigar industry, Karen Berger has tapped popular cigarmaker A.J. Fernandez to help her mark the occasion with the K by Karen Berger 25th Anniversary cigar. Blended by A.J. Fernandez, this cigar has a Connecticut Broadleaf Habano wrapper, a Mexican San Andrés binder and Nicaraguan filler. The cigar is presented in just one size: a 6 x 52 vitola with a suggested retail price of $16. Only 1,500 boxes containing 20 cigars each have been produced. La Flor Dominicana Solis Blended by Litto Gomez, Jr., La Flor Dominicana’s latest release, the medium to full-bodied Solis has an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, Ecuadoran binder and a mix of Dominican tobacco grown in La Flor Dominicana’s farm located in La Canela. Solis is presented in just one size: a 6 1/2 x 50 vitola that retails for $12.20. This was the first cigar blended by Litto Jr. who wanted to create a cigar that showcased his personality and that would contrast with La Nox, a La Flor Dominicana cigar that was blended by his brother, Tony Gomez. Maya Selva Flor de Selva N°20 Toro Maya Selva Cigars is adding a new Toro size to its Flor de Selva N°20 line. Presented in a 6 x 52 size, this mediumbodied blend is a Honduran puro with a Honduran Jamastrán wrapper and a Honduran binder and filler. The wrapper used in the cigar was grown in Maya Selva›s Santa Eulalia Farm located in the Jamastrán valley, in El Paraíso, Honduras. Oliva Cigar Co. Cuba Aliados Many retailers that were in business during the 1990s Cigar Boommay be familiar with the Honduran brand Cuba Aliados but may be unaware that the brand was purchased by Oliva Cigar Co. last year. Now the company is bringing the brand back to market with the help of two powerhouse cigarmakers: Ernesto Perez-Carrillo and Julio Eiroa. Perez-Carrillo blended a limited edition Cuba Aliados, a cigar that incorporates an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, Nicaraguan binder, and filler tobaccos from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. It will be available in five sizes with each cigar ranging in price from $14 to $15.50. Eiroa worked on the Cuba Aliados Original Blend, which is described as a Honduran puro. Available in five different sizes and packaged in 20-count boxes, each cigar will have a suggested retail price ranging from $10 to $12. Ozgener Family Cigars Bosphorus Brand owner Tim Ozgener ’s Turkish roots served as inspiration for this release. Both of Ozgener ’s parents were from Turkey where the Bosphorus Strait is located. The Bosphorus Strait is a body of water located in Turkey that separates Europe from Asia. This cigar is being manufactured at Tabacalera Pichardo, located in Estelí, Nicaragua. It has an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, Ecuadorian Connecticut and Nicaraguan binder, and filler tobaccos from Nicaragua’s Estelí, Jalapa and Ometepe regions. It comes in four sizes: 4 x 50, 5 x 52, 6 1/2 x 54 and 5 1/2 x 55. The suggested retail price per cigar ranges from $12 to $13.50. Each size comes packaged in 20-count boxes.
