90 TOBACCO BUSINESS | SEPTEMBER / OCTOBER | 22 ON YOUR SHELF ACE Prime Maria Lucia With the release of Maria Lucia, ACE Prime’s Luciano Meirelles wanted to blend a cigar that honored his late mother, Maria Lucia Meirelles. While creating the blend, Luciano wanted the tobaccos of the cigar to combine and reflect his mother ’s complexity and character. Maria Lucia, which debuted at this year ’s Premium Cigar Association trade show, features bold flavors but a blend that’s approachable for both the aficionado as well as the enthusiast. Presented as a medium to full-bodied box-pressed cigar, it features a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper; two Ecuadorian binders; and fillers from Peru, Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. Maria Lucia comes in one size, a 5 1/4 x 54 cigar, which has a suggested retail price of $12.80. Casa 1910 The Cavalry Edition Casa 1910 is a cigar brand created to celebrate Mexican tobacco and history, and it continues that initiative with its second line, the Cavalry Edition. Since Mexican horses are typically mixed breeds, these cigars are a departure from Casa 1910’s first releases in that they include tobaccos from different countries rather than being Mexican puros. This cigar line consists of three cigars and two different blends. The Casa 1910 Lucero is composed of Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, Mexican San Andrés binder and Nicaraguan filler. The Casa 1910 Jilguero is composed of a Mexican San Andrés wrapper, Nicaraguan binder and filler tobacco from Nicaragua. The suggested retail price ranges from $16.89 to $17.89 per cigar. Bellatto Premium Cigars Edition Bellatto Premium Cigars’ Edition cigar line comes in two different wrapper varietals: Ecuadorian Shade Grown and Brazilian Arapiraca Dark. This cigar line was inspired by classic movies, forgotten artists and the charm of vintage luxury hotels—all things brand owner Tony Bellatto and his father, Geno, have bonded over. Edition: CT and Edition: Brazil will both come in three sizes with Edition: CT ranging in prices from $13 to $15 and Edition: Brazil ranging from $12 to $15.50 per cigar. All sizes will ship in 20-count boxes. Casa Cuevas Cigars Sangre Nueva This is the first cigar blend created by Alec following his promotion to Casa Cuevas Cigars’ director of brand development. The blend comprises an Ecuadorian-grown Cameroonseed wrapper, a Dominican-grown Honduran Corojo binder, and filler tobaccos from Nicaragua and Pennsylvania. Described by Alec as a love letter to his family, Sangre Nueva will be available in three sizes: Robusto (4 3/4 x 52), Toro (6 x 52) and Double Perfecto (6 x 58). Each vitola will come in 10-count boxes and will have a suggested retail price that ranges from $13 to $14.75. Cavalier Genève Inner Circle Cavalier Genève’s latest release, Inner Circle, is rolled in Honduras and features a Cuban-seed wrapper grown in the Jalapa region of Nicaraguan, a Cuban-seed binder from Honduras’ Jamastran area, and a blend of filler tobaccos from four different countries. This is the first blend Sébastien Decoppet has created that includes Piloto Cubano, Cuban-seed tobacco from Jalapa, and Honduran broadleaf. It will come in 24-count boxes in four different sizes: Robusto Grande (5 x 54), Toro (6 x 52), Petit Robusto (4 1/2 x 5) and Figurado (6 x 52). Crowned Heads La Pâtissier After being released as an exclusive to retailers attending PCA 2021, Crowned Heads’ La Pâtissier is back as a regular production line available to all retailers. This is a mediumbodied cigar with notes of spice, earth and sweetness. This cigar features a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos from Costa Rica and Nicaragua. The cigar is available in four different sizes: 4 3/8 x 50, 5 3/8 x 54, 5 7/8 x 52 and 6 1/8 x 48. This cigar has a suggested retail price ranging from $10.50 to $11.
