ON YOUR SHELF ADVentura Cigars Barbarroja’s Invasion If you enjoy a cigar with a great backstory, ADVentura Cigars’ latest release is sure to be a crowdpleaser. ADVentura Cigars is a brand built around a fictional story about ADVentura and his companion, McKay, as they travel around the world on a grand adventure. This latest chapter and release takes a bit more of a darker turn “in a world domination sort of way,” the company stated earlier this year. This cigar features a Mexican Andrés wrapper and a binder and filler composed of Dominican tobaccos. It is available in three sizes: Robusto (5 x 52), Corona (6 x 44), and Toro (6 x 54). Suggested retail price will range from $13.20 to $15 per cigar. Altadis U.S.A. Group Romeo y Julieta Twisted Love Story Building on the success of the Romeo y Julieta Real Reserva line, Altadis U.S.A. has created a follow-up that offers cigar enthusiasts two sizes—with a twist. These Romeo y Julieta cigars feature alternating Ecuadorian Habano and Connecticut Shade tobacco in the wrapper, giving it a barber pole appearance. Dominican and Nicaraguan tobacco makes up the cigar ’s filler while the binder is a leaf grown in Nicaragua. This creamy and eye-catching cigar comes in 25-count boxes and in two sizes: a 4 1/4 x 46 vitola called Twisted Love Story and a 6 x 54 called Twisted Toro. Expect notes of earth, chocolate, wood and subtle creaminess on the finish. These cigars are shipping now to retailers. Summer may be over, but the season’s just heating up for retailers looking for hot new premium cigar releases. Here are some of the season’s biggest and most talked about premium cigars, general merchandise and more that will drive consumers into your store. Legends, a cigar project and collaboration between Carlito Fuente and Jorge Padrón, made its debut at this year’s PremiumCigar Association (PCA) trade show tomuch fanfare and excitement. On July 10, 2022, the Fuente and Padrón families unveiled the cigar’s packaging and branding. Details of the blend, distribution plan and official release were not disclosed at the unveiling on July 10, 2022. The unveiling was easily one of the defining events at this year’s PCA trade show in Las Vegas. Many of the attendees present at the trade show on July 10 gathered around for a chance to see the big reveal happen in real time. The presentation occurred in an area positioned between the Fuente and Padrón booths. This collaboration celebrates the patriarchs of the Fuente and Padrón families. Carlos A. Fuente, Sr. and José O. Padrón were friends and colleagues for over 50 years. They bonded over a shared passion for fine Cuban cigarmaking traditions and both had a deep respect for their family names. Bothmen passed their values on to their children. Their sons, Carlito Fuente and Jorge Padrón, together with their families, partnered to honor and remember the Fuente and Padrón family patriarchs with a first-of-its-kind collaboration: a box adorned with the faces of Carlito Fuente Sr. and José Orlando Padrón. The box contains two cigars, one blended by Arturo Fuente Cigar Co. and the other by Padrón, that honors the other’s patriarch. Each cigar is presented as a 7 x 50 Churchill. The cigar blended by Carlito Fuente Jr. to honor José Padron was presented in a cedar wrap while the cigar blended by Jorge Padrón in honor of Carlos A. Fuente appeared to be box-pressed. These cigars will come packaged in one box containing 40 cigars in total, 20 blended by Fuente and the other 20 blended by Padrón. It is believed it will be a limited release, although final plans have yet to be revealed. The specially designed bands honor both patriarchs and the words the twomen lived by: “Familia,” “Perseverancia,” and “Legado” (family, perseverance and legacy). Both families have selected rare and beautiful tobaccos to create what is being called legendary cigars worthy of themen they are blended to honor. To honor the patriarch’s tradition of giving, a percentage of the proceeds from the sales of this collaboration will be donated to the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation and the Padrón Family Foundation.
