In celebration of Macanudo’s 50th anniversary, General Cigar Co. has announced the upcoming launch of Macanudo Inspirado Red. This fiery new addition to the Inspirado cigar line is described by the company as being a bold, full-bodied cigar that “represents the marriage of rich volcanic soil and profound aging techniques to achieve unmatched strength and refinement.”
“As we celebrate the 50th anniversary of Macanudo, we created Macanudo Inspirado Red to speak to the brand’s unique ability to adapt to the preferences of today’s cigar lovers,” commented José de Castro, vice president of marketing for General Cigar’s Macanudo brand. “Nicaraguan cigars are hot right now. With ‘Inspirado Red,’ we show how nimble the brand can be by introducing a unique, Nicaraguan-forward blend to the line, while highlighting the expertise of the torcederos from our cigar factory in Estelí.”
Macanudo Inspirado Red is handcrafted at Scandinavian Tobacco Group in Estelí, Nicaragua. The cigar comes dressed in an Ecuadoran Habano lager and is blended with rarefied tobaccos including 12-year aged Nicaraguan Ometepe, 10-year aged Honduran Jamastran and a hearty Nicaraguan Jalapa binder. The cigar has notes of pepper and spice and comes in three vitolas: Robstuo (5 x 50), Toro (6 x 50), Gigante (6 x 60).
