InterTabac, one of the world’s largest tobacco trade shows, has announced the cancellation of its 2021 event. This is the second consecutive year InterTabac has had to cancel its trade show due to the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
InterTabac was scheduled to take place in Dortmund, Germany, from Sept. 16-18, 2021. The decision to cancel this year’s trade show came after the event organizers, Westfalenhallen Unternehmensgruppe GmbH, spoke various parties involved in the show and came to the conclusion that more were in favor of cancelling this year’s in-person show than attending.
“Working closely with the industry associations and partner associations, the conceptual sponsors, the advisory board and the exhibitors of these twin fairs, it has become clear that the vast majority are against holding the events this September, as previously announced,” commented Sabine Loos, managing director of Westfalenhallen Unternehmensgruppe GmbH, in a press release.
