On the heels of The Wiseman Maduro Robusto’s 93 rating in Cigar Aficionado, Foundation Cigar Company is adding a Cuban box-press Lancero (7 1/2 x 40) to the line. The product will be released at next month’s International Premium Cigar & Pipe Retailers Association (IPCPR) trade show in Las Vegas at booth No. 349.
The Cuban-box-press Lanceros will be available in 13-count boxes and are being produced at TABSA in Esteli, Nicaragua. The MSRP for the cigars will be $13 per cigar or $169 for a box. The cigars will be available for shipment in September. Foundation Cigar Company President and master blender, Nicholas Melillo, blended the Wise Man Maduro with a dark, oily Maduro wrapper from San Andres Mexico, a binder of Corojo ‘99 grown in Jalapa, Nicaragua, and filler tobaccos from Jalapa and Esteli. The cigars reflect full flavor and expansive complexity with hints of chocolate, earth, pepper and spice and are medium- to full-bodied. The first production run is 500 boxes.
