Foundation Cigar Company’s most exclusive cigar, Menelik, is available for sale in a limited production run. Previously, Menelik was available only at Foundation Cigar Company events—personally offered to consumers by Foundation’s owner, Nicholas Melillo.
Menelik was the name of an ancient Ethiopian emperor who was said to be the son of King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba. He was known as Ibn al-Hakim—“Son of the Wise Man.” Like Foundation Cigar Company’s El Gueguense (The Wise Man), Menelik offers consumers a flavor profile of rich cocoa, spice and earthiness.
A soft box-pressed Petit Robusto (4 1/2 x 52), Menelik offers a flavorful smoke with consistent draw. It is finished with a pig-tail cap. The blend is made from a San Andres Mexican wrapper, Nicaraguan Corojo ’99 binder and an all-Nicaraguan filler tobacco blend. A very limited supply of 12-count boxes will be available at the IPCPR Show beginning this week. Foundation Cigar Company then plans to continue to offer a limited supply of Menelik cigars on a quarterly basis to its most dedicated retailers.
