This is becoming a common occurrence in the cannabis industry as different strains re being named after popular items and companies. In the past year there have been cases involving both the Girl Scouts and Gorilla Glue being served letters demanding that their brands be disassociated with cannabis products. These companies have been successful in getting these products removed but often they have been rebranded and returned to the store shelves.
Though cannabis businesses must operate differently from most in terms of how their money is handled, they must still follow common rules regarding copyright and intellectual property like any other business.
