There’s a new release coming to commemorate the VegaFina’s brand nearly two decade history. VF 1998 is handcrafted by the Grupo de Maestros, the same group behind the iconic Romeo y Julieta, Montecristo and H. Unman brands.
VF 1998 is described as a top-notch premium cigar that features proprietary tobacco grown in the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Colombia, Indonesia and Ecuador. It features an Habana Ecuador wrapper, Java Indonesian binder and filler tobaccos from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Colombia. To make VF 1998 a distinct cigar, the tobacco leaves used in the blend were carefully selected and aged for at least four years. The aging provides gives the cigar a unique and balanced character that is recognizable by its rich, complex aroma and its flavor, with a gentle and refined mix of distinctive and intense nuances.
“In a way, we have been working on this cigar for over 20 years,” explains Pedro Ventura, a member of the Grupo De Maestro for Tabacalera USA. “Since the brand’s inception shortly before the turn of the century, we have taken our learnings from various blends to develop a cigar with just the right characteristics for the VF 1998. We are very proud of the result.”
